Meet Me!
A Neighborhood Brunch That Builds Belonging
Birmingham’s recent boom has drawn hundreds of young professionals who crave the city’s promise of culture and community, yet often have no easy on‑ramp to either. Meet Me! closes that gap. Hosted in partnership with the Parks & Recreation Department, each brunch pops up in one of Birmingham’s storied neighborhoods—West End, Avondale, Titusville, and beyond—using public parks as the ultimate common ground.
Guests are welcomed with locally catered bites, ice‑breaker games, and a swag bag of neighborhood goods. The heart of every event is a short talk by a Neighborhood Griot—a resident historian whose lived experience brings the area’s past and present to life. These authentic stories replace stereotypes with nuance, turning casual attendees into informed advocates for the city.
By the end of each brunch, newcomers have names, numbers, and narratives that make moving across town—or staying long‑term—feel natural. Meet Me! is more than a meal; it’s a bridge between Birmingham’s vibrant history and its next generation of champions.
